Crane lifting a 45,000 CFM Carrier AHU onto a Philadelphia rooftop Crew guiding a Carrier air-handling unit into position during the SAP replacement

Seamless Removal & Replacement of Four 45,000 CFM Custom Carrier AHUs (112 Tons Each, 45,000 lbs) – Completed in a Single Day

The project faced significant challenges, including damage to two of the four owner-supplied Carrier AHUs during transport, requiring meticulous planning and rapid execution to stay on schedule. The replacement process involved dismantling sections of the roof, walls, and structural steel to remove and install the units, with all four replaced in a single shift using two 125-ton and two 500-ton cranes. Adverse weather on March 6, 2024, added further complexity, but through extensive pre-planning, coordination with the owner and subcontractors, and precision scheduling, the team ensured all units were operational by March 9, avoiding delays that could have pushed the project to December. Controls integration and testing continued through April, demonstrating exceptional expertise and teamwork.
