Goldner Helps Prudential Meet New Data Center Standards

Structure Tone, Inc., and Bala Consulting Engineers engaged Herman Goldner Co., Inc. to deliver a new 39,400-square-foot Tier III data center for Prudential Financial’s Dresher, PA., campus, consolidating two existing data centers while maintaining 24/7 uptime and achieving LEED certification. The project reused the existing chiller plant, upgraded critical systems, added new air handling equipment, and expanded the generator fuel oil system. With no shutdowns allowed, Goldner’s team meticulously planned 56 system connections using advanced techniques like hot taps and line stops to ensure uninterrupted operations. Temporary partitions safeguarded IT systems during construction, resulting in a data center capable of supporting a 2,900 kW critical computing load with fully maintainable infrastructure.
